Legal Documents

I get calls daily from people “shopping around” for the “cheapest” price for filling out legal documents. I’ve been told that I’m less expensive than some and I’ve been told that I’m  more expensive that some.

I am on the board of a statewide association of Legal Document Assistants. One slogan of our association  is “access to justice”. Not everyone can afford, or needs, an attorney in certain situations. However, they should still be able to have access to the Court system, when necessary.

As a Legal Document Assistant, I strive to follow our association’s mantra by doing the best job that I can and providing my clients with the respect and care that they deserve . I have a quiet, peaceful, private office where I meet with you. I always answer my phone or if I’m out, I return your call as soon as possible. I respond to  emails in a very timely manner. I keep in contact with you so you will always know the status of your case.

My contracts (which are required by the Dept. of Consumer Affairs) are very exact at stating everything that’s included in my fees. I do everything in my power to insure that you receive all of the legal documents your case requires, so that your legal action is complete and correct. Because I am not an attorney, I can’t give you advice. However I have attorneys that I refer my clients to if they are in need of advice or representation.

The biggest compliment that I’ve been paid by my clients is that they can tell that I care about them. I do care. I stay in contact with them after their case is closed, checking to see how they are doing and if they have any other needs that I can assist with.

QDRO

Have you been through a divorce? Do you know someone who has been divorced? Or is going to be divorced? Often when completing the divorce process there are assets to divide. Most of the time one of those assets to be distributed is a retirement plan, pension plan, or 401k plan. In order to distribute that asset, most plans required a Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO).

The QDRO process can sometimes be long and drawn out. If you are trying to type the QDRO yourself, it can become frustrating. At Court Forms Plus, we have many years of experience in typing QDROs. We have typed QDROs for many different plans.

QDRO

Divorce

I recently read an article in a magazine that said that separation/divorce can “take a toll” on one’s heart. The article was not on the topic of divorce, but instead was discussing heart disease in women. According to the author of the article, women going through a divorce are 60% more likely to develop heart disease that those that are happily married. It made me stop and think.

Obviously not everyone is or can be “happily married”. And unfortunately, divorce will always be a part of our society. But if you are in an unhappy marriage and just cannot make it work, there are things you can do to try to keep your stress level down, while dealing with divorce.
